High Holiday Service Schedule
High Holiday Schedule
This year our High Holiday Services were live-streamed from our sanctuary. Cantor Janet Leuchter joined Rabbi Sagal in leading the HHD Services. All HHD services can still be accessed here or on Facebook Live.
Our virtual holiday services were open to all. We do kindly request for non-members and Associate and Affiliate members to make a suggested donation of $180 to help us defray the considerable costs in creating our Virtual Holiday Experience. To make a donation, please use the link below.

The Days of Awe New for 5781: Each segment of our service will have a theme in the form of a question. These themes are meant to stimulate thought and discussion apart from the prayers and the sermons and are listed in bold. While they are meant to add meaning to the service and the holy days, they may or may not relate to the topic of the sermon that day. We invite you, if the spirit moves you, to discuss these themes as a family, even during the worship service itself if you wish. Note - Except for the beginning times, all times are approximate. This schedule was updated on 9/23/2020. Selichot: Saturday, September 12, 2020 8:00 PM: Havdalah and Program “Is Repentance for Racial Injustice Necessary?” A Conversation with Rev Kerwin Webb, NAACP Red Bank. This is the time of year when Jews are asked to reflect deeply on the ideas of penitence, repair, and return. This program will focus on the issue of whether we as a Nation must consider national repentance for the sin of slavery and oppression. Will we ever heal if we do not repent? What might that look like? Rev Webb is a dynamic, powerful speaker and teacher and we look forward to hearing his thoughts and ideas. 9:00 PM: Selichot Service Reflection and Discussion Theme: “Am I Really Ready to Change My Life?” Erev Rosh Hashanah: Friday, September 18, 7:00 PM Reflection and Discussion Theme: “What Will I Write in My Personal Book of Life this Year?” Rabbi Sagal will deliver his sermon during the service Rosh Hashanah Day One: Saturday, September 19 9:00 - 10:15 AM: Shacharit Reflections and Discussion Theme: “Today is the Rebirth of the World-Am I Ready to Become the Person I Wish to Be?” 10:15 - 11:30 AM: The Wisdom of our People -Torah and Haftarah Reflection and Discussion Theme: “Will God Hear My Prayers?” 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM: Musaf (additional service) Reflection and Discussion Theme: “My Life is Finite-How Do I Make it Count?” 12:30 PM: Rabbi Sagal will deliver his sermon 2:00 – 3:00 PM: CBI Family Together High Holiday Services (Zoom) Rosh Hashanah Day Two: Sunday, September 20 9:00-10:15 AM: Shacharit Reflection and Discussion Theme: “Rather Than Lamenting My Mistakes, How Might I Learn From Them?” 10:15 - 11:30 AM: When I pray I speak to God, when I study God speaks to me-Torah and Haftarah Reflection and Discussion Theme: “Can I Stand Up to What is Wrong and Unjust?” 11:30 AM -12:30 PM: Musaf and Shofar Reflection and Discussion Theme: “The Shofar Calls…Am I Ready to Listen?” 1:00 PM: Rabbi Sagal will deliver his sermon 5:00 – 6:00 PM: Live in Person Gathering for Tashlich at Marine Park, Red Bank Sunday, September 27 - 11:00 AM: Live in Person Gathering at the CBI Cemetery for those who wish-Memorial Prayers Recited by Rabbi Sagal Erev Yom Kippur: Sunday, September 27 6:30 PM: Kol Nidre Service Reflection and Discussion Theme: “Why Do We Gather Together for Forgiveness, and Not Be Alone?
