Welcome to this web page for the Dorothy L. Spiwak Memorial Library. But please, don’t just stop here. We invite you to visit our award-winning library in person. Our library is a project of the Congregation B’nai Israel (CBI) Sisterhood. We are an affiliate of the Association of Jewish Libraries.
Most books circulate and may be borrowed by non-members as well as members of CBI.
The library’s objectives are to:
- Support, complement and enrich the adult and juvenile educational programs of Congregation B’nai Israel.
- Contribute to the development of Jewish social, intellectual and spiritual values.
- Contribute to the knowledge and pride of Judaism with special attention to our Jewish-American heritage.
- Stimulate growth in the appreciation of Judaism in both Hebrew and English literature.
In addition to books, our collection of about 6,000 items includes CDs, audiocassettes, videos and DVDs. Our collection also includes a number of items pertaining to Jewish history in Monmouth County.
