For nine months each year, Congregation B’nai Israel sponsors a monthly discussion series for our members called the Kumzitz (no sessions are held June, July or August). Although each Kumzitz includes an invited speaker-moderator, the focus of the sessions is to elicit maximum participation by the attendees. Often, the subjects are controversial and, in the past, they have included topical, economic, social and religious subjects. Each Kumzitz is scheduled right after a Friday night service and Oneg. They generally last until about 10:00 PM.
