We began November learning about Election Day.  The classes discussed elections, voting, and the importance of having the opportunity to have your voice heard.  The children had the chance to practice their right to take part in a ballot by choosing among things such as their favorite ice cream flavors.

Soon after it was time to begin exploration of the Pilgrims and Native Americans and the special holiday of Thanksgiving.  Our classes discussed what it means to be thankful and created many beautiful art projects, some to take home and some to use on our tables at our Thanksgiving Feast. The classes have also been preparing traditional Thanksgiving faire to be eaten and enjoyed at our feast.

This month, during NJEA Teacher Convention Break, our teachers attended an In-Service Day on the topics of “Keeping Healthy” and “Conflict Resolution in the Preschool Classroom”.  Both seminars were very informative and provided us with many ideas that we can use going forward in our school year.

Great news! The Gan is growing in 2010. Do you know anyone looking for quality Judaic programs?   In January we are adding a mid-year 2-year-old class and we are happy to announce the addition of full day Judaic kindergarten coming in September.

Call us if you would like information on any of Gan Yeladim’s growing list of exciting classes and programs or our ongoing challah fundraiser.  Our number is 732-842-1800 ext. 209.

We wish you and your families a Happy Thanksgiving..
